Urban living is a part of Surprise’s new history, with new neighborhoods featuring modern, upscale housing, the latest in spacious community parks and public gathering spots and a host of new condo and commercial developments. The business climate is expanding. Money Magazine recently rated Surprise tops in the nation in job growth since 2000. More than 1,700 businesses cater to residents and dozens more are opening every month as new residents continue to move into the city.
Surprise is also home to a large community of rural properties. These properties have the best of both worlds as they come with acreage, space for horses, mountain views and an overall country feel. With all of this homeowners can still enjoy all that the city of Surprise has to offer within a short drive.
Surprise is home to more than half-dozen golf courses, a pair of museums, one centered entirely on Native American arts, the other focusing on fine arts and traveling exhibitions and is just minutes from the Wildlife World Zoo. With its close proximity to the White Tank Mountains, outdoor lovers will find opportunities for hiking and biking in a pristine desert environment. Residents will tell you that Surprise is still a work in progress.
